What are some of the requirements for scooter rental?

To rent a scooter you must be 18 or over and have a valid driver’s license and a major credit card. You must agree to rental terms & conditions and sign our rental contract. Also, a refundable security deposit of $200 is required on all rentals.

Do I need a motorcycle license?

No. Scooters are 49cc so no special permit is needed, however, you must have a valid driver’s license. No temporary learning permits.

Do I need a credit card to rent?

Yes. To rent a scooter you must have a major credit card.

What areas do you deliver to?

South Beach, Miami Beach, Midtown, Brickell and other local Miami areas.

Is there a delivery cut-off time?

All scooters are delivered by 4PM for overnight rentals.

Must I wear a helmet?

No, but we HIGHLY recommend and suggest it. Florida state law dos not require a helmet, however we emphasize safety first. Glasses are MANDATORY. Sunglasses, goggles, or other forms of eye protection are required. Passengers under 16 MUST wear a helmet.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. You must be 18 years or older to rent a scooter.

What kind of shoes will I need?

We strongly encourage the use of closed-end shoes or sneakers. Wearing flip-flops is a disaster waiting to happen. There are going to be times when you will probably want to put your foot down when you are making a turn in a gravelly area. So, think about it.

Do I need to fill the tank with gas?

There is no charge for gas so you can bring the scooter back empty. No problem.

Can I be denied rental?

Scooters2U reserves the right to deny any rental or cancel the reservation if we determine you are operating in an unsafe or uninformed manner. We have the right to refuse rental if we determine that you are not comfortable and confident after the “getting-used-to” period when we are showing you how to operate the scooter.

When am I required to pay?

Due to a large amount of reservations, full payment is due at the time of the reservation. The Refundable Security Deposit, however, is charged at the Rental Start Date.

What does the refundable security cover?

The Refundable Security Deposit of $200 dollars covers any parking tickets, moving violations, and/or damages done to the vehicle during the time of the rental. It is due at the time of reservation and MUST be made with a credit card. It is a charge in additional to the rental amount.

When do I receive the refund for the security deposit?

The Refundable Security Deposit of $200 dollars is refunded directly to the original credit card 4-5 business days after the end of the rental.

What are your cancellation/early return policies?

If you need to cancel for any reason prior to your rental start date, please note the following:

There is no charge for cancellations made within 48 hours prior to the rental start date.

There is no refund for cancellations made 48 hours or less prior to the start date.

Email notification is the only way of cancelation.

If you wish to return your scooter early (before the designated rental end date) for any reason, no refunds will be given.

What happens to the rental if it rains?

In the event of severe rain or inclement weather, we advise our customers to exercise caution when riding . You may cancel, but the normal refund regulations apply.

Where am I allowed to park?

Any legal parking space or designated scooter parking. Please follow all local parking regulations in Miami Beach and City of Miami.

How can I avoid damage while parking?

Stay away from hightrafficked areas like fire hydrants, corners, and driveways. The more car movement there is, the greater the risk of your scooter getting hit.

Don’t leave your front tire hanging out in traffic.

Make sure your bike is firmly planted on its kickstand or centerstand and not too tippy in any direction.

How can I make sure the scooter is safe while parking?

Be friendly with the business owners, residents, and doormen where you park regularly; they’ll be your
eyes when you’re not around, and may pass along information to you in case of an incident.

Use multiple methods: a steering lock, a wheel chained up (especially to a stationaryobject) will take too long for most thieves to defeat.

Park near others, especially other motorcycles, in welllit, foottrafficked areas.
