Let’s start with the South Beach Food and Wine Festival, February 24th through the 28th. This is held directly on the beach in Miami, and it is the largest and most prestigious event for South Beach during the course of the year. The SOBE Food and Wine Festival drew in over 65,000 people in 2013. In March, the Miami Open Tennis Tournament from the 21st of March until the 3rd of April will be held at the Crandon Park Tennis Center. This tournament brings some of the greatest tennis players of all time to the courts – either to play or to watch or to be seen. April brings the Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival and lots of color to the entire area. July is highlighted with the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim where the biggest names in designer fashion for swimsuits and resort wear show up to show out for their latest collections. In November, Miami hosts the Miami Beach Polo World Cup. These matches are held directly on the beach between 20th and 22nd Streets. This draws in over 10,000 people over the 4-day week every year, and a portion of the ticket sales goes to help the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Miami.
